so bad, worthy of nothing less than a blog entry.

recently ordered 2 gallons of chroma-key blue paint from B&H photo. it's for a student of mine who needs to shoot some keyed video for his senior project.

i was surprised to see an enormous box waiting for me in the office. i brought the box directly to the studio. i opened it to find another, mostly shredded B&H box inside.

"inside" that one, actually more like "in the vicinity", was a smattering of packing peanuts and a large plastic bag with the two, 1-gallon paint containers.

one had leaked at least half of its contents into the bag, covering it and the other with the bright blue (and expensive) paint. the bag itself was torn and leaking into the larger box.

the shipper must have seen that it was damaged and returned it to B&H. B&H then put the paint cans, holes and all, into a bag and sent it out again, putting the whole thing in a bigger box, conveniently return-addressed to B&H....

...i kept the one gallon that survived, after tossing its paint-soaked label. my student had to get to work this weekend...

...note - all photos taken with a nikon d-70, purchased for the department from...B&H photo.
